Power of a Simple Idea

Entrepreneurship is a powerful model which can help put simple ideas into action. The sooner girls realize their power to make “something” happen, the more likely they will develop the personal power in the future to make smart choices towards building solid futures.

Do you have an idea and don’t know how to make it happen? Find out! Simply start by asking questions and seeking advice from family, friends, teachers, local businessmen/women, etc.  You will be surprised by what can and will happen!

Start pedaling! Whenever a new idea takes off, there are always naysayers who will try to deter you – there are always things you won’t know exactly when you need to know them – there will be days you wonder why you even started down this path. Our advice to you? Start pedaling!

Implementing a new idea is a lot like riding a bike up a  hill.  Take a look at two scenarios:

People who let life happen - There are many people who sit on their bike — at the bottom of the hill — do nothing — look and lament.  “Oh that hill is so big, we will never get up that hill.  Maybe we need a better bike?  How many other people have made it up this hill?  Will you go up the hill with me?” and on and on and on it goes.  The next thing you know, they are so overwhelmed with the task — they give up — take their bike home — put it in the garage to collect dust until the next time they decide to go for a bike ride — for many the bike is never ridden again.

People who make life happen - These people sit on the same bike — at the bottom of the same hill — look up — sigh — look down — and start pedaling.  Every once in a while we glance up, see that we still have a ways to go and we keep pedaling.  We fall — we skin our knees — our chain breaks — sometimes we are even forced to get off the bike and start walking with it beside us.  Nevertheless, we get back on — we keep pedaling — before we know it, we find ourselves at the top of the hill.
